Introduction
Welcome to roughly2foot6.com! My name is Damien Tinker, and I hope you will enjoy my narrow gauge journeys.
This website has been created to display images and information based on narrow gauge railways in Australia. These images will be a combination of current narrow gauge operations, and also some images of a by gone era, such as the Victorian Goldfields. There is still so much left out in the wilderness that needs to be acknowledged and shown in photograph.
The offroad trips that have been carried out to get some of these images has been assisted by the Garmin Nuvi 250W, with the OzTopo software and Tracks 4 Australia third party maps.
A lot of the images so far will contain mostly Victorian rail or tramways, but hopefully in the not to distant future this site will be able to display other such areas in Australia not only by myself but other keen light railway enthusiasts. This website aims to provide you, the reader, every possible type of narrow gauge railway that has been constructed in Australia such as mining operations, logging or produce like the sugarcane fields of Queensland.
Please feel free to browse this website at your own leasure, and if you would like to contribute to this site or ask any questions please send an email to
